A Gentle Love Story

I have read all of the negative reviews a d disagree with most of them.
The critica who complain of the lack of reality in the political and social descriptions of Burma and the love story,I say get over it. This is fiction,not fact.
The story is the traditional star-crossed lovers, separated by fate. The reader is left questiening why the lovers remained apart for so long and why a marriage was allowed to injure an innocent woman. And, the reader has to come to terms with a flawed "hero". But that said, I recommend this book. It was a relief to read a book that was not full of vulgarity and gratuitous sex.

The love story of two young people with different bodies, one of whom as suffered some losses. The story of a young woman who has lost her father.
Read this book in a few days because I kept thinking of it and couldn't wait to pick it back up.
